The Rotary Club of Sittingbourne Invicta Community Chest 2025 scheme is now open for applications. If you are a local community group or small local charity you can apply for grants to help fund a specific purchase, project, or activity.
Last year £3,000 was distributed to 12 groups and since it started in 2012 over £47,500 has been donated through the scheme. The maximum Community Chest grant this year will be up to £250 with the opportunity for 12 applications to be approved.
The 2025 scheme will close on 31st March with award presentations to be made in May.
All applications will be considered and decisions taken on merit. We will not exclude groups we have helped in the past. To qualify a group must be based in Sittingbourne or the immediately surrounding area and be a not-for-profit organisation. The scheme is not for commercial organisations or individuals, and you must also have a bank account in the name of your club or group. Last year £2,991 was distributed to 15 groups and since it started in 2012 over £41,000 has been donated through the scheme.
The maximum Community Chest grant this year will be up to £250 with the opportunity for 12 applications to be approved.

Each year the Club invites applications for grants from local organisations. This year the club received applications from 15 organisations. They asked for grants for up to £200. All applications were successful and the Club awarded a total of £2,991.
The organisations which applied were:
Supporting Children through domestic abuse.
New marketing/advertising literature.
A new 4 person tent - to replace equipment damaged to value of £5K during the pandemic.
CFRs are trained by the ambulance service to attend life threatening emergencies.
Training resources, aids and materials, including in particular a "choking" training vest
Accredited domestic abuse service in Swale.
To pay for a year's mobile phone costs for the Counselling Coordinator who triages these families.
Provides support for the voluntary and communiity sector. Also operate a community transport scheme.
To pay for advertising to widen awareness of the community transport scheme recruit new drivers due to 50% fall in numbers due to pandemic -
Social club for retired and semi-retired (mostly widows on a limited budget).
To provide an afternoon tea at the August meeting with a 40s theme, which will also be their jubilee celebration
Supports children aged caring for a family member with a disability, long term health condition, mental health or a substance misuse issue.
Funding to provide a a picnic lunch with themed crafts and games to play for families struggling financially.
To support adults who are isolated and lonely
To fund Sittingbourne book club project to buy paperbacks and ebooks for house bound members.
Community based football club
Need to buy clothing to keep the new under 7s team warm and dry in winter - rain jackets and/or tracksuit tops.
Scout Group with Beavers, Cubs and Scouts (100 young people)
Recently relocated to new premises and require secure outside storage for the equipment used at weekly meetings.
Provides a Christmas dinner and companionship for residents in Swale who would be alone at Christmas
The grant would pay for letters to their clients personally and explain that this year Companionship will be happening, to be printed and sent out, plus gifts for the clients and volunteers that attend.
To help fund a defibrillator to be kept available during sessions.
Support and champion the LGBTQ+ community of all the Swale area
Towards annual Pride event. Swale Pride running costs i.e. annual accounts filing via accountants support
Give opportunity for young girls and ladies to play competitive football throughout Kent and London
Grant towards 1st aid kit and supplies and new match balls.
Champions research into the town's heritage and manages the volunteer stewards in the Heritage Hub in the Forum.
Would like to again purchase professional Zoom to enable sharing documents/presentations during online meetings and breakout sessions, enabling hybrid meetings for those who wish to remain at home.
